A wakizashi by Hizen Omi Daijo Tadahiro. Ubu nagamei, Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro. Hawatare, 1 shaku 5 sun 5 bu (46.9684 cm or 18.49"). The motohaba is 3.05 cm., sakihaba 2.12 cm sori (approximate) 1.3 cm. Fine itame hada, slightly nagare toward the ha. Moist appearance with fine ji nie and chikei. The hamon is a ko nie deki suguba The habuchi is tight and bright. The suguba narrows toward the kissaki and moves very close to the edge just ahead of the yokote. This is a very good Rai Utsushi, looking similar to the work of Rai Kunimitsu. Silver niju habaki. Sayagaki and N.B.T.H.K. Hozon Kanteisho.

The Tadayoshi school of Hizen is closely linked with the Nabeshima Daimyo by whom they were employed. He is the second generation of the Hizen Tadayoshi school, and became the head of the school after the death of the Shodai Tadayoshi in 1632. He received his title of Omi Daijo in 1641. He was perhaps the most prolific smith of the shinto period, and there are many extant works, which include many juyo.
He is rated as Jojo Saku in Fujishiro's Nihon Toko Taikan - Shinto Hen, and valued at eight million yen in Toko Taikan.
